Ms. Laurel Bain, is a former employee of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) where she served in various positions, including that of Deputy Director in the Research Department, Senior Director of the Statistics Department, Adviser in the Governor’s Office and Senior Director in the Strategic Planning and Projects Department in the Governor’s Office.

Ms. Bain has over twenty-five (25) years of central banking experience. She has undertaken considerable research on economic and fiscal policy. Ms. Bain has undertaken assessments of the economies of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) and research on fiscal policy and taxation issues in the ECCU. Ms. Bain has worked extensively with international development partners and regional institutions.

Following her retirement from the ECCB, Ms. Bain has been involved in a Caribbean Development Bank CDB) sponsored project which provided training to senior public officers in Dominica, Montserrat, Anguilla, and trainers in these countries along with The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos. She has been involved in undertaking assessment and developing training programs for parliamentarians, with Guyana as the pilot.

Ms. Bain holds Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Economics from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago. She is also an accredited director.
